Music From Around The World And Around The Block!
Maggie LePique hosts the Wednesday edition of the Global Village with Poncho Sanchez, a Grammy winning conguero, band leader and one of our true Southern California cultural treasures. In the first hour Poncho and Maggie pay tribute to the remarkable bandleader and pianist Eddie Palmieri, whose pounding rhythms forged a new style for Latin music. Maestro Eddie Palmieri died at his residence in Hackensack, New Jersey, on August 6, 2025, at the age of 88. Maggie also featured tracks from Poncho's latest recording, "Poncho Sanchez & His Latin Jazz Band Live at the Belly Up Tavern" More info on Poncho Sanchez is available here: https://www.ponchosanchez.com/
