Maggie goes in depth with the 2020 reissue of the Grammy award winning album, Buenos Hermanos. In 2003 Ibrahim released his second solo album for World Circuit, ‘Buenos Hermanos,’ an album that is firmly rooted in tradition but at the same time expands the horizons of Cuban music with its varied repertoire, or as Ry Cooder simply put it, ‘I think the album’s a goddam classic.’ The album received almost universal praise, going on to win both GRAMMY and Latin Grammy awards. The album was reissued in early 2020 with new mixes of the full album overseen by Ry Cooder, and with 4 previously unheard tracks from the original studio sessions.
https://rycooder.com/
https://www.worldcircuit.co.uk/artists/ibrahim-ferrer/</itunes:summary>
