| Guest: Tom Hayden, Jackie Goldberg, Gerald Horne |
| Topic: Friday on our weekly roundtable: with the backdrop of militant and on-going protests by teachers across Mexico, Mexico’s President Enrique Pena Nieto is meeting with President Obama who arrived in Mexico on Thursday. The agenda is bound to include US treatment of Mexican migrants, immigration reform, guns flowing from the US to Mexico and trade. How will US economic interests and Pena Nieto’s vulnerabilities impact the talks?
The hunger strike of prisoners at Guantanamo has forced Obama to once again renew his efforts to close the prison. Meanwhile prisoners are being kept alive by being forced fed against a declaration by the World medical Association that opposes it. What has kept the President from closing Guantanamo, can he honestly continue to blame Congress?
And the President Obama is under fire for his latest cabinet appointment: a billionaire heir to the Hyatt hotel fortune as Commerce Secretary. Meanwhile his Labor nominee is having a hard time getting GOP support in the Senate and a number of non cabinet appointments are blocked. What’s going on?
Panelists are: Jackie Goldberg; Tom Hayden; Dr. Gerald Horne.

Is sequestration the result of DC gridlock or is there more than meets the eye?
Meanwhile the conservative majority US Supreme Court is considering whether or not to strike down a key article of the Voting Rights Act, and affirmative action is also on the SCOTUS agenda. Also with more people in the US having negative views on race than when President Obama was first elected, what’s going on?
